With indication of EMO and EMS, it prevents secondary accidents due to shutoff and reduces recovery work.

Emergency Stop Switch Meets International Standards

In some cases, measures must be taken to minimize confusion between the EMO and EMS in terms of the related standards.

  • IEC 60204-1 (2005)/JIS B 9960-1 (2008), Section 10.8.3

  • SEMATECH Application Guide 2.0 for SEMI, Section 12.6

Connection Diagram

The SEMI-S2 standard requires that either a safety guard be installed to prevent erroneous emergency off or that the emergency stop switch be installed in a location where erroneous operation will not occur, while the IEC 60204-1 standard (JIS B 9960-1) does not require the installation of a safety guard.
